PMAPS Read Only Now Web Enabled
September 2, 2003, Westport, CT – In a continuation of its proposal management leadership, Proposal Software announced an improved web-based Read Only module for its award winning Proposal Management & Production System (PMAPS). “There are no specific restrictions in terms of the web server software itself”, said John Laurino, Proposal Software’s CEO. “The search engine will run in conjunction with all popular web servers like Apache or IIS. The application can be configured to run on Internet Explorer, Netscape and any other standard web browser.”
Requirements include: Web space on a Win32 (Windows NT or higher) or any of the Unix-variants (GNU/Linux, Solaris, IBM-AIX, HP-UX, Free BSD, Mac OS-X) with the right to run your own CGI programs. If the web space is remotely hosted, access via FTP/SFTP is required for installation. On large web sites and for optimal use of the PMAPS database indexing functionality, shell access (usually via Telnet/SSH) is recommended. The minimal required memory resources are about 3 MB. Recommended available memory is at least 8 MB.
