Proposal Software Dedicated to PMAPS Proposal Management Platform
March 21st, 2005, Westport, CT – John Laurino, CEO, today formally announced the launch of Proposal Software, Inc. (www.proposalsoftware.com). According to Laurino, Proposal Software, Inc. was spun out of Westport Software Group, Inc. in order to solidify the company’s leadership role as a provider of RFP and RFI management software.
“The official launch of the new company, Proposal Software, Inc., should be seen as a direct statement of our commitment to serving the needs and challenges of proposal professionals,” said Laurino. “This new company will focus exclusively on continuing our 10-year track record of equipping proposal professionals with leading edge software representing, ‘best practices’ of professional proposal management.”
Proposal Software, Inc.’s flagship product is Proposal ManagementandProductionSystem, or PMAPS®, the innovative “best in class” comprehensive proposal management platform currently in use by over 100 major companies worldwide. Originally developedin 1994 and now in its ninth generation, PMAPS® has been continually revised and expanded to serve the increasingly complex needs of proposal professionals and RFP teams.
According to Laurino, “PMAPS® serves the ‘mission critical’ sales and marketing function of companies who must continually respond to RFP’s in order to maintain their organization’s sales momentum,” said Laurino. “PMAPS® is a powerful tool that allows proposal professionals, working either independently or as part of a team, to maintain a distinct competitive advantage in soliciting and bidding on new business opportunities.”
Currently in use in healthcare, financial services, and a wide cross-section of Fortune 1000 corporations, PMAPS® has become a front-runner among proposal management software. Since January, 2005 alone, PMAPS® has been adopted by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts, LifeMasters Supported SelfCare, , AAM-Investment Management, Blue Asset Management, and Fred Alger Management. Other clients include leading financial services, healthcare, and investment management companies including ING Investment Management and WellPoint family of healthcare companies.
Laurino pointed out that unlike alternative proposal management software, PMAPS® can integrate with most other user software and database platforms, and requires no customization with existing platforms. “Its scalability and ease of use makes it the proposal management platform of choice for RFP teams of any size, regardless of complexity, application, or RFP and RFI volumes,” he added.
In addition to serving as CEO of Proposal Software, Inc. Laurino continues as chief executive officer of The Westport Software Group, Inc. developers of the ‘best of breed’ Enterprise Incentive Management (EIM) software CATS 2005 EIM (Compensation Activity Tracking System) and Enterprise 2000 Financial Telemarketing System, a bank-wide customer and prospect database system for small-to medium-sized banking organizations. Laurino was formerly chief marketing officer of Citibank/Citicorp’s Investment Management Group, The Bowery Savings Bank, Hospital Trust National Bank, and headed Colonial Penn Group’s financial services division.
Proposal Software, Inc.’s chief technology officer is Steven N. Heffter, formerly President of IMPACT, Inc. a leading relational database design group specializing in the healthcare, financial and legal market segments. One of PMAPS®’s original developers, Heffter has remained continually involved in the development of PMAPS® since its inception in 1994.
The company’s Director of Client Services is Betty Manning. Manning joined Proposal Software, Inc. after over 10 years of extensive proposal management experience with PacifiCare Health Systems, one of the nation’s most progressive managed care organizations. Manning served on the original PMAPS®’s ‘beta’ evaluation team in 1994, and has worked closely with PMAPS® ever since.
PMAPS® was demonstrated live at the Professional Association for Investment Communications Resources (PAICR) Conference, held in New York City on March 10 and 11, 2005. It will again be showcased at the Association of Proposal Management Professionals (APMP) 16th Annual Conference & Exhibits, June 7-10, 2005 in Phoenix, Arizona.
