PMAPS Highlighted at Institute for International Research's "Mastering the RFP Process" Conference in NYC
May 9th, 2007 Westport, CT – Proposal Software, Inc.’s director of financial markets Wendy Cheng-Wong was a presenter at the Institute for International Research’s (IIR) “Mastering the RFP Process” conference held in New York City last month. Cheng-Wong participated in a panel entitled “Technology Tools and Database Architecture to Manage the Proposal Process.”
Proposal Software, Inc. is developer of the leading proposal management platform Proposal Management and Production System (PMAPS).
The central focus of Cheng-Wong’s presentation was how to achieve “best practices” in proposal management using PMAPS 2006. Cheng-Wong focused her presentation on productivity improvements provided by the recently released Service Pack 1 of PMAPS 2006. With over 100 new features, including single-click auto filters for increased search productivity, this Service Pack 1 provides PMAPS users with 20 to 50 percent faster search results.
Cheng-Wong’s presentation included a case study on how PMAPS 2006 had resulted in substantial workflow efficiencies at a top-ten global financial services company which deployed PMAPS®. The company, which processes high volumes of RFPs under very tight deadlines, has gained dramatically enhanced productivity in its proposal response process in the year in which it had deployed PMAPS.
Said Cheng-Wong, “When PMAPS was used the tasks involved in the proposal preparation process did not change, but the time allocated to each task was dramatically shortened. The underlying results gave the writers more time to create higher quality customized proposals.”
PMAPS 2006 is a comprehensive, “industrial strength” proposal management platform for companies that must turn around high volumes of proposals under tight deadlines. Originally developed in 1994 and currently in its tenth generation, PMAPS is in use by over 200 companies worldwide, including major healthcare, financial services and Fortune 1000-size corporations in the U.S., Europe and Asia.
The annual IIR conference provides RFP professionals with high-level strategies and techniques to make RFP teams as effective and efficient as possible. While several panelists represented developers of proposal software, only Proposal Software, Inc., is dedicated solely to proposal management software.
“Because proposals are becoming more complex and more important to the sales and marketing function, we see a greater need to stay strictly focused on proposal management software,” said John A. Laurino, CEO of Proposal Software, Inc.
“Unlike our competitors, who have expanded into areas such as sales force automation and CRM support related software, Proposal Software, Inc. has never allowed our focus to be diverted from providing professionals proposal teams with ‘best in class’ technological solutions.”
“Technology is the only answer for leading edge companies who must continually respond to high volumes of RFP’s in order to stay competitive,” said Laurino. “PMAPS 2006 is a user-friendly but powerful tool honed by 13 years of nonstop development, making it the proposal management platform of choice for professional RFP teams of any size.”
